Fremantle’s week 7 clash with Carlton could see defender Jae Flynn and midfielder Dana East return, after the pair have missed multiple matches under concussion protocols.

Flynn was ruled out after suffering a collision in the opening minutes of the final quarter in the week 4 match against Melbourne, while East was placed under concussion protocols following Fremantle’s week 5 clash with St Kilda.

AFLW High Performance Manager Corey Morris provided an update on the pair, with hopes they will be available.

“They’ve just got full training to get through this week and they’ll both be available,” Morris said.

Following her MCL injury, forward Serena Gibbs had a successful return to football on the weekend, participating in a scrimmage match.

“Serena’s had a really good week,” Morris said.

“She returned to scrimmage over the weekend and has pulled up well, so she’ll be available (for selection) this weekend.”

Forward Tara Stribley has had an unfortunate setback with her ankle injury, with recent scans revealing new information.

“We sent (Tara) for another scan late last week as her ankle wasn’t progressing as expected, which has shown a small fracture in her fibula,” Morris said.

“We’ve been managing her conservatively so we’ll continue to do so and return her as we see fit.”
