Fremantle have come from behind to defeat Geelong by 18 points, moving to third spot on the AFLW ladder.

Geelong kicked the first six minor scores of the game, and it took until the second quarter for Fremantle to kick the club’s first goal, thanks to a quick snap out of the pack from Tunisha Kikoak.

Hayley Miller, who was a standout performer on the night, made it a quick two, punishing the Cats on the turnover.

In Miller's post-match interview on-ground, the midfielder also eluded to the key changes made.

“We moved some things around and managed to shut that down and get our game going," Miller said.

“They were obviously using that wide winger and really getting the jump on us that way, so to be able to lock that down allowed our mids to go to work, get some numbers forward of the ball and get some scores on the board."

Having an impact on the scoreboard herself, Sarah Verrier was also pleased with the win off a short break.

“It feels really good, especially after the short turnaround from the four-day break," Sarah Verrier said post-match.

“Once we changed up structurally, being clean and being first to the footy, I definitely think we were on top of them."

Going into half-time down 21-10 in the inside 50 count, Fremantle flipped the momentum after half-time to finish the match ahead 32-30 in the count, marking the club’s fourth consecutive win.

Pressure and intensity around the contest lifted from Fremantle in the second half as Aisling McCarthy and Miller stamped their authority on the game.

"I love having those two in my team, not just on the field but off the field as well with their trademark acts. They are incredible," Verrier said.

Fremantle held the Cats to just a single goal in the second half as McCarthy put the icing on her night with a late goal to accompany her 29 disposals, seven clearances, and six tackles.

The win for Fremantle capped off a successful return to football for Mikayla Morrison, who played her first game in over 900 days after recovering from two ACL injuries.

"We got drafted together and have only played a few games together since, but I’m absolutely proud of her, and so are all the girls," Verrier said with a smile.

"She’s such a resilient little lady, and we are so proud of her and happy to have her back."

Fremantle will now face another quick turnaround and play Hawthorn on Sunday October 6 at Fremantle Oval.

“I think recovery is our main focus at the moment and just getting back to fundamentals as well," Verrier said.

“I’m excited to get back and stay home for a little bit which will be good."
