Fremantle defender Jae Flynn will be sidelined for the next one-to-two weeks after being placed under concussion protocols following a collision during the week 4 clash with Melbourne last Saturday.

Flynn and Melbourne’s Eliza McNamara collided in the opening minutes of the final quarter on Saturday, as Flynn went to lay a tackle on the Dees midfielder.

Following yesterday’s injury update on co-vice-captain Áine Tighe, AFLW High Performance Manager Corey Morris gave an update on Flynn, along with others who are inching closer to a return.

"She (Jae) unfortunately fell into concussion protocols over the weekend, so we’ll look to progress her through the protocols over a week or two,” Morris said.

Morris hopes utility Tunisha Kikoak will be available for Friday’s week 5 match against the Saints, given she gets through training.

“She’ll be a test for this weekend, so if she gets through training, she will be potentially available for selection,” Morris said.

Forwards Tara Stribley (ankle) and Serena Gibbs (knee) are both inching closer to a return as the pair continue to progress through rehab.

“She (Tara) returned to run over the weekend. We’ll look to continue to progress her this week, and then hopefully see her return next week,” Morris said.

"Similar to Tara, (Serena is) hopefully a week away. She got into full football last week, so we’ll look to do that again this week and then see her return.”

Forward Mikayla Morrison has integrated back into football after a minor setback prevented her availability for the first half of the season.

“(Mikayla is) really good. She’s been back into football for a couple of weeks now,” Morris said.

“She’s progressing really well, so it’s exciting for her.”
