Five Fremantle players are in the running for All Australian honours in 2024, with Andrew Brayshaw, Jordan Clark, Luke Ryan, Caleb Serong, and Hayden Young all named in the extended squad of 44 players.

Brayshaw (2022), Ryan (2020), and Serong (2023) already hold an All Australian jacket, while this is the first time Clark and Young have been named in the squad.

The final team of 22 will be announced on Thursday night as part of the AFL Awards, where the AFLPA MVP, Rising Star, and AFLCA AFL Champion Player Award winner will also be announced.

Serong and Brayshaw have had dominant years in the midfield, with Serong finishing sixth (676) for total disposals in the competition, while Brayshaw finished seventh (670).

Serong’s outstanding year is also reflected in the Coaches’ Votes, with the star midfielder sitting equal second with 99 votes at the conclusion of round 22.

Luke Ryan has been a pillar in defence for Fremantle in 2024, ranking first in the competition for total marks (198) and first overall for rebound 50s (170), 31 clear of second place.

In the absence of captain Alex Pearce and fellow key defender Brennan Cox throughout large portions of the year, Ryan's leadership has shone through as he consistently led a young defensive unit which saw Fremantle hold the fourth-best record for points against in the league.

Hayden Young’s first full year transitioning to the midfield has paid dividends for the 23-year-old, with Young gathering 46 more total disposals than ever before, accompanied by a career-high 13 goals (the most of any Fremantle midfielder) and 123 tackles (37 more than his previous best).

The young midfielder is also ranked as one of the best ball users in the competition.

Clark’s first nomination in the All Australian squad comes after a phenomenal year for the speedy defender. As one of the Club’s main distributors across half-back, his pace and booming kick consistently broke through the opposition’s lines.

The 23-year-old posted career-best statistics for disposals (568) and marks (156).
