Fremantle will celebrate the 22nd anniversary of the annual Starlight Purple Haze Game, proudly presented by South 32, in the Club’s round 19 clash against Melbourne.
Since Fremantle’s first-ever annual Starlight Purple Haze game in 2003, the match has become a marquee event in the calendar looked forward to by the Club, players and fans alike.
To celebrate the 22nd edition of the fixture, Fremantle will wear a special jumper paying tribute to the tireless work of the Captain Starlights.
This year’s design signifies the journey of the Captain Starlights on their rocket, brightening the lives of children and their families, while navigating difficult experiences in hospital.
The Fremantle Football Club has had the privilege of encountering numerous Captain Starlights over the past 22 years. Each time, Club representatives have been consistently greeted with the line "Captain Starlight comes down from Planet Starlight every day in a rocket to visit sick kids in hospital."
This greeting has left an indelible mark on all members of the Club who have experienced it, and there is no doubt this introduction has provided a similar feeling to the children, their families, and other visitors who are meeting Captain Starlight for the first time.
It is believed to be a powerful moment that potentially serves as a positive turning point in the hospital experience for many.

Retail jumpers will be made for purchase at $150 each, with $50 per purchase going to the Starlight Children’s Foundation.
