Fremantle key forward Josh Treacy has moved into the top 10 of the Coleman medal race after his three goals on the weekend.
Treacy who kicked three plus goals for the fifth time this season, said he is looking forward to a quiet week down south during the bye week, before returning for a strong second half of the year.
“It’s always good to get into the bye, switch off physically and mentally for a couple of days, but we obviously understand what we've got ahead of us,” Treacy said post-match.
“I’ll be down south for a couple of quiet nights and then back up to Perth for the back half of the year to kick into it.”
Treacy wasn’t just hitting the scoreboard during the Club’s 92-point win over Melbourne on the weekend, the 21-year-old also added a career-high 18 disposals and 11 marks to his name but was adamant it was all round effort by the forward’s group.
“We had a bit of everyone on the goal kickers list today which is always good,” Treacy said.

“We’ve been saying for a while now it’s not going to click instantly (forward cohesion), we are still working really hard at it, but today was a really good step in the right direction.
“It’s pretty disappointing to see some of the stuff that was out there (in the media regarding Jye Amiss and Michael Walters), but we always knew that the boys were going to bounce back with the calibre of players they are.”
Treacy’s strong start to the season sees the forward averaging two goals per game (above average) and boasts an elite ranking by Champion Data for goal accuracy (72.7%), the best in the top 10 of the Coleman.
