Fremantle were flawless during the Sunday afternoon dominating display over Melbourne that has seen the Club jump to sixth place on the AFL ladder ahead of Freo's round 13 bye.

“I feel like we’ve given ourselves a decent platform to be able to compete and make an impact in the second half of the year,” Pearce said during his 6PR post-game interview.

“I think if we take that West Coast game out, we’ve been in every game with a chance to win late against some really good teams.

“It’s been a talking point to maintain the confidence and faith in each other and that we are good enough against anyone and that’s the mindset we went in with against Melbourne.

Pearce said the group would return to Western Australia and would enjoy a few vital days of relaxation and recovery before preparing for their round 14 clash with the Bulldogs.

“We will definitely have a few days to relax and get away,” Pearce said.

“You never fully check out, we will have a chat before we have a break about what we want to get out of the rest of this season.

“It’s a long season and we have a long way to go so we want blokes to be able to enjoy some time with friends, family and each other, relax and get prepared for a real tough second half of the year which we want to be playing really deep,” Pearce said.

The round 12 win over the Demons sees Fremantle head into the bye with seven wins, four losses, one draw and boast the second-best percentage in the competition after restricting Melbourne to their lowest score of the season.
