Walyalup key forward Josh Treacy has said the Club is looking forward to facing last year’s premiers in front of the Purple Army on Friday night.

Collingwood started the season with three consecutive losses, but have since found form, winning six of their last seven games.

“You want to be playing teams when they are up and about like they (Collingwood) are at the moment,” Treacy said during his Monday afternoon press conference.

“We have a really strong belief inside these four walls that our footy can really hold up against the best.

“It’s just another opportunity for us to get out, put our best foot forward and hopefully put out a really good showing."

Treacy has been one of Walyalup’s stand out performers throughout the first 10 games of season 2024, with the young key forward already having 20 goals to his name (five more than his season total last year).

Something that the 21-year-old credits his routine and Club support for.

“Certainly, I’ve got a lot of confidence, self-belief and then confidence from the coaches and my teammates in allowing me to back myself and play to my strengths,” Treacy said.

“I have a routine that I’ve figured out that works nicely for me, and fortunately enough it has paid off for me this year when I’ve needed it.

Walyalup will face Collingwood in their Sir Doug Nicholls Round 11 clash at Optus Stadium on Friday night.
