Sam Switkowski and Michael Frederick are both tests to play for Fremantle this week against the Western Bulldogs in the Club’s Len Hall Tribute game.
High Performance Manager Phil Merriman said both forwards should be available for selection, with Switkowski needing to tick one final box at main training this week.
“Switta is going well, he has to get through main training this week and he’ll be available for selection”, Merriman said.
“Freddy’s been really good, flying as he always does in reconditioning, and the plan is for him to play this week.”
After sustaining a knock to the head in the round 6 RAC Derby, Jye Amiss has entered concussion protocols and will miss this weekend’s game.
“He (Amiss) has actually pulled up really well,” Merriman said.
“He’s come in today (Monday) with no symptoms, so we’ll be watching him really closely this week.
“He obviously won’t play this week but hopefully we get him back the following week.”
A few weeks on from his hamstring surgery, Brennan Cox is progressing with his rehab program and has started running, eyeing off a return in less than 10 weeks.
“Brennan is going well, he is three days into his running program so we’ll be building his volumes over the next few weeks,” Merriman said.
Conrad Williams (foot) and Odin Jones (concussion) are both looking to return to the WAFL shortly after missing early parts of the season through injury.
“He (Williams) started on the AlterG this week, with the plan to play in a couple of weeks”, Merriman said.
“Odin has got to get through main training and that will take him out of the protocols.
“There is a WAFL bye this week, so the plan will be to have Odin return the following week.”
