Four Fremantle players will participate in the WAFL Grand Final at Patersons Stadium this Sunday 23 September.

Cam Sutcliffe, Jon Griffin and Sam Menegola will line up for East Fremantle, and Nick Suban will play for Claremont.

The last time the two teams met was round 19, when the Tigers dominated the game with a 92 point win over the Sharks.

Sutcliffe and Griffin did not play in that game, and the two additions to the East Fremantle team could boost the Sharks chances of redemption.

Sutcliffe has been in great form leading into Sunday’s final, and will be looking to produce another solid effort to help the Sharks chances of securing a win.

Senior development and assistant coach Simon Lloyd said Sutcliffe’s effort in East Fremantle’s win over Swan Districts in last Saturday’s preliminary final was outstanding.

“He had a very professional approach to playing in a final and played a hard contested game,” Lloyd said.

Lloyd shared his notes on all Fremantle players in the WAFL last weekend.

Cam Sutcliffe (EF) 16 disposals (10 kicks, 6 handballs) 4 marks
Cam played an even mix of wing and inside mid. The strengths of Cam’s game were his defensive run and his ability to cover the exits. He showed courage in the air by halving a high ball and took a strong mark in the air. He went hard at the ground ball playing his role and spread well from stoppages.

Sam Menegola (EF) 17 disposals (12 kicks, 5 handballs) 2 goals
Sam played as a high forward and key forward for the day and adapted to it well. He led repeatedly and had a strong start by getting into the line of play on the lead and not leaving contests. His output in the first half was really positive, but after half time he didn’t impact in the contest as much as the first. He had a solid contribution for the day and we were pleased with his run defensively.

Lachie Neale (SD) 32 disposals (14 kicks, 18 handballs) 5 marks
Lachie played as a high forward for a quarter, then moved to an inside mid. He got to work late in the second quarter, where he went inside and started winning clearances and worked directly to the contest to join in. His use of handball was effective and put his teammates into space. His positives were his center square bounce and boundary throw in clearances, and his high contested ball numbers.
