Mzungu driven for more finals action
Tendai Mzungu's first taste of AFL Finals has left him hungry for more.
The 10-point loss to the Crows at AAMI Stadium ended Fremantle’s 2012 finals campaign.
Mzungu said it was more a lack of organisation at certain times of the game, rather than fitness that let the team down, and refused to blame the short turnaround between the Elimination and Semi final as a factor.
“We don’t make excuses," he said.
"We were rapt to be in the position to play in a semi final.
“When the game was up for grabs we sort of went in our shells and kicked down the line. There is just a few things that we need to improve on.
“But I know Ross was really proud of all our efforts”
The 26-year-old, played in his first AFL finals campaign after being picked up as a mature-age recruit in the 2010 National Draft, said playing finals footy this year added depth to his development as a player.
‘To play in a couple of finals this year and see how much the intensity lifted was great,” Mzungu said.
“It was a great learning curve for me and the rest of the boys.
“I’m really hungry to push on for next year.”
