Fremantle have confirmed their round one team for Sunday’s RAC Derby clash with West Coast at Fremantle Oval.

Debutants Joanne Cregg and Ariana Hetherington highlight the selections, while Ebony Antonio (knee), Laura Pugh (wrist) and Emma O’Driscoll (leg laceration) have overcome pre-season setbacks to be fit and available for round one.

Hetherington joins Mikayla Hyde, Orlagh Lally, Megan Kauffman and Dana East on the starting interchange, while Makaela Tuhakaraina, Serena Gibbs and Tahleah Mulder have been listed as the emergencies for the clash.

AFLW Senior Coach Lisa Webb said after plenty of preparation the side is ready and raring to go.

“The group are really excited, we’ve done 13 weeks of pre-season and the players have done a mountain of work getting their head around a new gameplan,” Webb said.

“What is most exciting is that we’re done talking now and we’re ready to play.”

Webb highlighted the excitement of welcoming two AFLW debutants in Cregg and Hetherington, as well as the boost provided to the team with the selections of O’Driscoll, Pugh and Antonio.

“Jo and Ari we’re delighted to have debut in the team,” Webb said.

“They have a really strong work ethic and are really strong in the contest. They know the role they need to play and they’re really excited.

“You try telling (O’Driscoll, Pugh and Antonio) they are not playing! They are definitely in.

“They have been banging the door down for weeks, so they are three massive inclusions for us.”

Meanwhile, Fremantle’s non-playing players and listed emergencies will get a chance to put their best foot forward in a scrimmage match on Saturday morning at Cockburn.

Bouncedown for the RAC Derby clash is at 3.05pm on Sunday and tickets are available now through Ticketmaster.

The game will also be broadcast live into WA on 7mate, Fox Footy and can be streamed on Kayo.
