Fremantle have made four changes to their starting 22 for Saturday night’s clash with Sydney at Optus Stadium.

Caleb Serong, Hayden Young, Michael Frederick and Josh Corbett all return to the line-up, replacing four injured players in James Aish, Sean Darcy, Bailey Banfield and Brandon Walker.

Fremantle will also change their substitute due to injury, with debutant Ethan Stanley replacing Nathan O’Driscoll.

Corbett will play his first game since round six against the Bulldogs, Serong comes back from suspension while Hayden Young and Michael Frederick have been given the all clear after missing last week’s clash with Collingwood due to injury.

Darcy (ankle), Walker (knee) and Banfield (lacerated knee) all sustained their injuries against Collingwood, while Aish (quad) and O’Driscoll (calf) both sustained minor injuries at training and are likely to miss one week of football.

Senior Coach Justin Longmuir backed forward / ruck Luke Jackson to shoulder the load as the primary ruckman with Darcy out due to injury, bringing in Corbett to fill the vacant forward role.

Jackson has been playing through injury in recent weeks but Longmuir said he was up for the challenge.

“Some of (Jackson’s injury) concerns were caused off the back of his spike in ruck loads. He went from second ruck and minimal ruck playing mostly forward to all of ruck," Longmuir said.

"That was a big jump, which he wasn't used to. This time hopefully he's used to it, because he's already been through it and he's had that taste for being a no.1 ruck and his body is up to it.

"We think he should be right."
