Fremantle is slowly amending areas of its game that were not up to standard mid-year, according to veteran defender Luke McPharlin.
The club recorded its only two losses of the season in rounds 10 and 15 and both players and coaches have suggested during that period the side was not performing at its best.
McPharlin said the side had focused on a number of areas, such as ball use and positioning, which had improved in recent weeks.
He said while Fremantle made some skill areas in its 21-point win over the Giants at Domain Stadium on Sunday, the effort and intensity was good.
“It was a pretty sloppy contest,” he said.
“The effort was really strong, our polish and disposal at times really let us down.
“That’s something we can keep improving.
“A lot of our key-performance-indicators were really strong but we really should have put more of a dent on the scoreboard.”
