Walyalup will have an almost full squad to pick from heading into their round 11 clash against Narrm on Saturday at the MCG after getting through their win against the Cats without injury.
It was Nat Fyfe’s first game since round one where he started in the 22, and High Performance Manager Phil Merriman said the forward/midfielder was subbed off in the third quarter as planned.
Fyfe was named as the sub in rounds eight and nine against Hawthorn and Sydney, and has played 32, 25 and 53 per cent game time in his past three appearances.
“Thankfully, a few things fell our way and we were able to sub Nathan out at the optimal time, according to his football load,” Merriman said.
“He’s pulled up very well.”
Forward Matt Taberner (back) and defender Heath Chapman (hamstring) are the only players who will be unavailable for selection.
There is no timeframe on Taberner’s return, while Chapman is four to six weeks away.
Merriman said Chapman was working hard to come back fitter and stronger.
“Heath’s moving through his running progression really well,” Merriman said.
“He’s still spending a lot of time in the gym to make sure he’s coming back a better athlete.”
