Two of Fremantle’s off-season additions have been the most impressive on the training track so far this pre-season, according to Senior Coach Justin Longmuir.
Ruck / forward Luke Jackson has dominated the most recent sessions while former Hawks and Suns midfielder Jaeger O’Meara has been a machine on the track.
“Jaeger couldn't have been more impressive to be honest,” Longmuir told SEN WA.
“He’s really keen to live the game plan and everything he's done is done like a pro, whether that's in the gym, out on the track with running or just his efforts and skill drills.
“He’s made a really good impression on everyone and he fills the need with Dave (Mundy) going out.
“We hope he can string some of his best footy together because it's going to be a good attribute for us on and off the field.”
At 199cm, Jackson has been particularly impressive at ground level with an ability to act as a virtual extra midfielder when in the ruck.
“Luke’s probably been the best performer over the last couple of sessions once we started getting into a bit more competitive stuff,” Longmuir said.
“That competitiveness and ability to win the ball at ground level, but also really compete with his pressure, has stood out.
“He's taken a couple of nice marks at training as well on the end of some good ball movement.
“He's been really impressive.”

Jackson has slotted in seamlessly working with both the rucks and forwards as he looks to become one half of a potentially dominant ruck duo with Sean Darcy.
“We'll make sure he and Sean can be a ruck / forward combination for us,” Longmuir said.
“They both bring different aspects to those roles which has the capabilities of throwing a different look at the opposition.
“They’ll make sure they build that relationship together and become really fluent and flexible with the way they rotate.”
