Fremantle have named an unchanged lineup for Saturday night’s Semi-Final clash with Collingwood at the MCG.
Forward Jye Amiss will play just his third game of AFL and second final after kicking two goals against the Western Bulldogs in last week’s Elimination Final.
Senior Coach Justin Longmuir spoke in Wednesday’s media conference about the impact of the youngster.
“I thought he competed really well in aerial contests, which will hold him in good stead this week,” Longmuir said.
“I imagine he will only grow off last week. He handled the occasion really well and he’s a really mature player. He’ll get to work and it will be a great experience for him.”
Bailey Banfield, Travis Colyer, Lloyd Meek and Ethan Hughes have been named as emergencies for the clash, with one of them to be named as the medical sub one hour prior.
Matthew Taberner remains out of the Fremantle side after recovering from a calf injury he suffered in round 21.
Longmuir also spoke on the availability of Taberner in Wednesday’s media conference.
“He desperately wants to be out there and contribute but on the flip side, he definitely doesn’t want to let the team down and as match committee, we’ll always put the team first," Longmuir said.
Taberner returned to football via the WAFL last weekend, kicking two goals and having 13 disposals for Peel in their 92-point victory over Swan Districts.
Fremantle will celebrate two milestones on Saturday night, with Andrew Brayshaw playing his 100th AFL game and Justin Longmuir celebrating his 200th game for Fremantle as a player and coach combined.
The game will be broadcast from 5pm WST on Channel 7 and Fox Footy and can be streamed on Kayo.
