Fifteen Fremantle players were in action as Peel Thunder recorded a convincing 73-point win against West Coast's WAFL team.
West Coast had 14 AFL-listed players in action in the game, and were held goalless until the 9th-minute mark of the fourth quarter, as Peel dealt with the Eagles 16.9 (105) to 3.14 (32).
Peel bounced back after their close loss to Claremont last weekend and have set themselves up for a must-win match against Swan Districts in Mandurah next Sunday.
It took just three minutes for Fremantle’s Mitch Crowden to open the scoring, with an impressive weave through traffic and snap for goal to give Peel the early advantage.
The home side took a 31-point advantage into the first break after Blair Bell laid a crunching tackle on West Coats’s Sam Petrevski-Seton and kicked for goal truly.
Out-of-favour defender Nathan Wilson was influential with his ball use and setting up offensive plays off the half-back line.
After being held scoreless in the opening term, the Eagles found more of the footy in the second and third quarters, however inaccurate kicking diminished their hopes of a comeback.
Fremantle ruckman Lloyd Meek made his mark against West Coast's Bailey Williams and Hugh Dixon and got on top in the second quarter after a big pack mark on the goal line before he snapped through a goal.
Peel piled on another four goals in the second quarter, taking their lead to 51 points as they led the Eagles 9.2 (56) to 0.5 (5) at halftime.
Like the first half, Crowden started things off with a goal in the second half, while Meek continued his dominance and gave his midfielders first use, finishing with 22 disposals, 33 hitouts and a goal.
Wilson continued to find the footy with ease in defence, finishing with 32 disposals and 15 rebound 50s.
Peel take on Swan Districts on Father’s Day next weekend in a must-win clash that will see them clinch onto 5th spot with a victory.
