Nat Fyfe isn’t bothered by missing out on All Australian selection this year, in fact, he feels better for not being chosen.

The star 23-year-old has enjoyed a superb season in Fremantle’s midfield.

But he said the players chosen ahead of him in the All Australian team deserved to be there.

“I thought the guys that were selected have all had fantastic years,” Fyfe told Channel 7 on Wednesday.

And the Lake Grace product preferred not to be rated any better than his teammates.
“To be honest, I would have felt a little bit uncomfortable if I was recognised ahead of any of the guys in our midfield, especially Michael Barlow and David Mundy,” he said.

Fyfe said Freo’s focus remained on playing reigning premiers Sydney in the preliminary final at Patersons Stadium on Saturday night.

“There’s a lot of excitement about the guys, a few nerves, but mainly just focus and excitement,” he said.

And he wasn’t buying into thoughts the Swans would not be at their best because of injuries and conditioning.

“I thought their performance on the weekend was first class,” Fyfe said.
“They’ve got a lot of experienced bodies and premiership players in their team, so they’ll be really up for the fight.”
