June and July may be tax time but the auditor is always on the job at Fremantle, according to senior coach Ross Lyon.

Lyon was responding to questions on Seven News on Tuesday about ‘audit’ being a buzzword in football at the moment.

“We get audited every week,” he said.

“My players would say every time they come into the club and train they get audited.

“It’s nothing new.”

Lyon is renowned for his analysis of his players, staff and himself in order to continually improve.

He said Sunday’s blockbuster against Hawthorn in Launceston would be test for his side.

“We like to measure ourselves against the best teams and Hawthorn is one of those,” he said.

“It’s an exciting challenge.

“We’re keen to get down there and give it a really good shake.”
