Both came through the ranks at WAFL club West Perth before making their way onto AFL lists.
Fremantle selected Stephen, 22, with the third pick in the 2008 National Draft, while 19-year-old Brad went to Hawthorn with selection 33 in 2011.
The Hawthorn Hill played only five games in a developmental debut season, but he’s been a mainstay this year, injecting pace into the Hawks’ midfield.
Freo’s Hill said he had been impressed by his younger brother’s efforts in 2013.
“I’ve been watching his games and I think he’s been pretty good,” Stephen said.
“His run has been impressive and he’s been taking them on and kicking a few goals.
“He’s added to them a bit, and with Cyril Rioli there already, it gives them a bit of pace and skill.”
Stephen has spoken to Brad ahead of the game, and save for a bit of banter, both are remaining tight-lipped.
“We’re not saying too much to each other,” he said.
“We’ve gotten stuck into each other a bit, so hopefully we can get the win.”
Someone who doesn’t care which side wins on Saturday is their mother, Stephanie.
She is flying over to Launceston to watch her boys play.
“She’s pretty excited,” Stephen said.
“I think she’ll be very proud to see us run out together.”
With both Hills playing similar positions for their respective sides, there’s a chance Stephen and Brad will collide on the field of football battle on Saturday.
“I think we will,” Stephen said.
“Brad’s been playing on the wing and so have I, so I think there’s a fair chance we’ll cross paths at some stage on Saturday.”
