Fremantle will be have at least six outs for Friday night’s clash against North Melbourne with a group of players entering the AFL’s Health and Safety Protocols.

Senior Coach Justin Longmuir confirmed in Wednesday’s media conference that Rory Lobb, Travis Colyer, Blake Acres, Griffin Logue, Michael Frederick and Lloyd Meek would all miss the game.

Fortunately Fremantle will be bolstered with a number of players ready to come back into the team, including Sean Darcy, Hayden Young, Heath Chapman and Bailey Banfield, while young gun key forward Jye Amiss will also make his debut.

Longmuir is hopeful that Fremantle’s outs will be limited to the six players.

“Griffin joins the three (Lobb, Acres and Colyer) with Frederick and Meek as well. We have six outs. We’re pretty confident that will be all,” Longmuir said.

“It’s a challenge but it’s an exciting one, and it creates opportunities for other players.

“I’ve been saying that our depth is good and there’s players at Peel who deserve opportunities and that doesn’t change. They’ll be ready to take them.

“Darcy’s fine and ready to go, he got through training and is in good spirits, he’s all good. Young, Chapman, Banfield are coming back into the team.

“We’re going to field a team that allows us to play our best footy. We need to prepare well and respect the opposition like we do every week and play our brand of footy for four quarters.”

With Lobb and Meek out, Longmuir said tall forward Josh Treacy would support Darcy in the ruck.

“We’re confident Josh has done enough ruck work at Peel and he’ll have to step up,” Longmuir said.

“He’s done that role in preparation for this opportunity.”

Longmuir said forward Sam Sturt was also a chance for selection.

“He’s in the picture,” Longmuir said.

“He’s putting good performances together at WAFL footy, if that’s enough to make the cut, you’ll have to wait for (team selection).”
