Star midfielder Nathan Fyfe is likely to be available to play for weekend’s game against Adelaide, despite sustaining an ankle injury on the weekend.

Fyfe injured his right ankle late in the first quarter of Sunday’s game but played the remainder of the game against the Western Bulldogs with it heavily strapped.

Sports science manager, Jason Weber, said although Fyfe’s ankle was heavily bruised he hadn’t done any significant damage.

“Nat’s pretty black and blue this morning and quite swollen but his MRI’s are clear and he is walking around quite comfortably,” Weber said.

“We would expect him to be a test later in the week."

Matt De Boer was ruled out of Sunday’s game after he injured his knee during a training session drill.

It was the first game the midfielder has missed since round 23, 2012

“Matt was involved with a contact injury he’s got slight medial ligament damage to his knee,” Weber said.

“We are expecting him to be back within four to six weeks.”

Garrick Ibbotson was a late admission into the final 22 for the game against the Bulldogs.

Ibbotson had not played since injuring his shoulder during the round three game against Hawthorn.

The defender started the game as the sub and came on half way through the third quarter.

“Ibbo came on and did really well.

“His shoulder was fantastic, he’s got his strength back and functioning really well.”
