Fremantle CEO Steve Rosich has confirmed that the transition process for Fremantle members to Perth Stadium will commence on Monday, after the stadium user agreement was signed by all parties.
Premier Mark McGowan was present to sign the documents at the world-class facility on Sunday, alongside representatives from the football community that included Rosich, Fremantle president Dale Alcock and AFL chairman Richard Goyder.
Fremantle will launch Virtual Perth Stadium - an online portal - on the club’s website on Monday.
Virtual Perth Stadium is designed to provide all Fremantle members and fans the ability to see incredible 360-degree views from almost every section of the stadium alongside the range of affordable and exciting membership options.
“It’s an arrangement over (the next) 50 years, so that’s 550 regular season games that we’ll play at this stadium and we can’t wait for that first one,” Rosich said.
“Our members are no doubt looking forward to finding out the process and the timing with the transition to their seating at the new stadium.
“That will start on Monday and we’ll inform the members of the seating options available and the prices. What will flow from there is picking allocations, the opportunity to move seats and also add family and friends.
Rosich said the club was excited at the prospect of the stadium being packed by Fremantle fans.
“It’s a terrific stadium so we can now fit more people in. It’s something we’re looking forward to and it starts tomorrow,” Rosich said.
“It’s an opportunity for us (to sell out the stadium). It’s a terrific stadium and it will be equal to the best in the country, if not the best in terms of amenity.”
“Fremantle Dockers members will get that once in a lifetime chance to secure their seat once the transition process starts on Monday."
Rosich said fans will be pleased with the pricing options on offer.
“We’ve set the prices and we’ll advise those to the market and to our members tomorrow,” Rosich said.
“The deal that’s been struck, the word used by the Premier and Richard Goyder from the AFL is ‘balance’.
“There has been balance in this negotiation and fans will see what we’ve been able to do in terms of our pricing and it will be very affordable to go to the football.
“We can’t wait to let our members know these prices.”
AFL chairman Richard Goyder said the league is committed to ensuring an exciting fixture for Fremantle fans.
“This is a really important day for football in Western Australia,” Goyder said.
“The great news is that football supporters in Australia are going to have the best stadium in the world to come and watch great football teams, men and women, compete in this stadium.
“That is going to be an absolute highlight of 2018 and beyond. Perth and Western Australia are going to have the best stadium in the world and we’re delighted to be a part of that.
“We’ll make sure that we schedule great games here and I think this is going to be a huge boom for football in Western Australia, starting with a Fremantle AFLW game on February 10, which will be a really exciting start for football at the stadium.”
Fremantle’s president urged members to embrace the opportunity to enhance their football experience at Perth Stadium.
“To Fremantle fans, just jump on board, this is a once in a lifetime event,” Alcock said.
“This is the first year of playing at a new stadium and it’s absolutely world-class.
“The great thing is, our members are going to have the opportunity to choose where they sit and bring family and friends around them.
“I think that’s going to be a great option for Fremantle members to really decide what level they want and who’s going to be sitting next to them for the years to come.”
