Three Fremantle players have been selected in the round four Mark and Goal of the Year nominations.
Freo played in two separate matches across the round four designation, with their additional match against the Western Bulldogs being their originally scheduled round 10 clash which was brought forward.
Forward Roxy Roux has been nominated for her strong contested mark on the wing in the early stages of Fremantle’s clash with Collingwood, leaping at full stretch against opposition midfielder Mikala Cann.
Within the same match, Fremantle forward Gemma Houghton was nominated for Goal of the Year after kicking the sealer in the final stages of the match.
Houghton took on her Collingwood opponent Stacey Livingstone in a foot race before collecting the ball in the pocket and changing direction to snap the ball through for a brilliant check-side goal.
In Freo’s most recent Tuesday night clash with the Western Bulldogs at VU Whitten Oval, Ebony Antonio proved yet again that she knows how to be a match-winner.
With the game on the line and both sides struggling to convert, Antonio took the match into her own hands as she kept her feet in an important one-on-one contest, collected the ball and slotted the match-winner from the pocket.
