Fremantle ruckman Aaron Sandilands says despite breaking two VFL/AFL records in as many weeks, it means nothing if his side loses.
Sandilands set a record for the most hit-outs to advantage with 23 in Friday’s 27-point loss to Richmond at Domain Stadium.
It came just a week after he broke the all-time VFL/AFL record for the most hit-outs in a game with 69 against Adelaide.
The club announced on Monday that Sandilands had re-signed with Fremantle until the end of the 2016 season.
Sandilands said he spent little time thinking about personal records.
“For us it’s all about winning games of footy,” he said.
“On the weekend there might have been a record but we didn’t get the four points.”
Sandilands said his body was holding up well in his 13th season.
“It’s nearly half way through the season and I haven’t missed a game,” he said.
“If that keeps happening, the form is still there and I’m loving coming to training and playing every game (then I’ll keep playing).”
Fremantle play the Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium Saturday 13 June. Bounce down is at 1.40pm local time.
