Senior coach Justin Longmuir said Brayshaw was a standout in the final term when things went down to the wire.

“I was really pleased with Andy,” Longmuir said.

“He’s been working on a lot of areas of his game. He’s had a very good season. I thought his last quarter oozed leadership. He had a will to win, he never stopped trying.

“That’s not to take anything off anyone else. I thought we all were in the same boat. I thought it was such a team effort. But he probably stood out in that last quarter.”

Fellow young gun Adam Cerra polled eight votes in the match, finishing with a career-high 33 disposals and 21 kicks.

Cerra was pivotal in setting up Fremantle’s attack forward of centre with a game-high nine inside 50’s, five more than any other Fremantle player on the ground.

The 21-year-old also collected 11 contested possessions and eight marks and intercepts.

Ryan was a wall in defence for Freo, showing composure on the last line of defence when it counted most.

26 of Ryan’s 27 disposals were kicks, finishing with a game-high 745 metres gained.
