The Fremantle playing group is fired up to pull on the green anchor guernsey when Freo take on Richmond on Sunday for Retro Round, thanks to 92.9 Triple M.
Bell said he had some fond memories wearing the jumper, including kicking two goals in Freo’s first ever game against Richmond at the MCG in 1995.
“I loved (the jumper), our players love it as well and clearly the fans do with the jumper selling out, it seems like we can't manufacture enough quickly enough,” Bell told Triple M.
“I have mixed memories in the old green, I did wear it at the MCG for Fremantle's first game but then got dropped thereafter but that hasn't diminished my love for the jumper - I really, really like it.
“Hopefully it's something we can continue to do and hopefully we can perform well in it as well, which is most important.”
Bell on post-season priorities: Draft or trade?
Bell said he thinks James Aish might have an added benefit if he pulls on the long sleeve jumper for the Sunday afternoon clash.
“There might be a bit of a camouflage effect as well (with the green sleeves) blending in with the grass,” Bell said.
“You might be able to pop us out of one of those sprinkler holes as well with a little bit of subterfuge!”
Unfortunately, Fremantle captain Nat Fyfe won’t have the chance to run out in the jumper after having surgery on his injured shoulder which has ruled him out for the season.
Bell said Fyfe had done well to play through the pain for as long as possible.
“Nat's incredibly tough. You could tell at various moments since the first incident that he was feeling a bit of pain - he didn't have full strength or range of movement,” Bell said.
“What he was able to do for us for a number of weeks is much appreciated, but we're glad that (he’s had) the surgery. He can recondition it successfully and come back to 100 per cent as soon as possible.”
