Carlton has named a trio of inclusions for Saturday night’s clash with Fremantle at the MCG.

After impressing last weekend following his starting appearance as medical sub, Nic Newman returns to the starting 22 for the clash with the Dockers.

He returns to the fold alongside Levi Casboult and Tom Williamson, who will play their first games since Rounds 12 and 9 respectively.

Casboult will provide further tall support for Harry McKay in attack, with the Coleman Medal leader producing a career-best seven-goal haul against Fremantle back in Round 3.

Williamson is a like-for-like replacement in Carlton’s running defender stocks for Zac Williams (suspension) and Sam Docherty (ankle).

Marc Murphy is the other exclusion from the line-up after the calf injury which saw him come from the ground early in last week’s win against Adelaide.

This week's medical sub will be announced an hour before the game, with one of four emergencies Matthew Cottrell, Josh Honey, Lochie O'Brien and Luke Parks to be selected.

It’ll be Carlton’s second encounter with Fremantle this season, with the Blues looking for their fourth consecutive victory over the Dockers since David Teague took over in mid-2019.

It’ll be the first clash between the two sides at the MCG since 2005, with the Blues entering as the ‘away’ side for the rescheduled encounter.
