Fremantle’s focus is ‘redemption’ for a poor round three performance against Carlton when the two teams go head-to-head for the season time this season this weekend.
The date and venue for the ground is yet to be finalised as Fremantle departed Perth for Melbourne on Tuesday amid the current Covid-19 situation around Australia.
Players and staff were Covid-tested on arrival and are currently self-isolating in Melbourne waiting for a negative result.
Longmuir told 7NEWS prior to departure on Tuesday that his players weren’t going to be affected in their preparation.
“It is what it is. We get direction off the AFL and they get direction off the government. There is not a lot we can do once all of the options are exhausted,” Longmuir told 7NEWS.
“We obviously experienced this earlier in the year and although we didn’t get the results we wanted, we thought we handled it reasonably well so we are hoping for more of the same this time.
“We just have to charge on and make sure it doesn’t affect us in a negative way.”
Longmuir said Fremantle’s 45-point loss to the Blues in round three was the Club’s worst result of 2021.
“They are a team that are really strong in the contest. They have got a good strong forward half game and they hit some form on the weekend,” Longmuir said.
“I don’t think they have been out of form this year. Lapses in games have cost them. They have been really competitive against some really good sides as well.
“They stitched us up last time we played them. That was our worst game of the year so we need to redeem ourselves from that.”
