Fremantle has kept its finals dream alive, cruising to victory over Gold Coast at Optus Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Freo Dockers did enough to keep the Suns at bay, running out victors 11.10 (76) to 6.13 (49).
The Suns were their own worst enemy, repeatedly fighting hard to win possession of the footy before coughing it up almost immediately.
It was slow-going in the first half, with the Suns kicking just the one goal to half-time, spraying shots on goal to record eight behinds.
They steadied the ship in the second half, with a second goal from Izak Rankine putting the Suns within two points of the Dockers midway through the third quarter.
ALL THE HIGHLIGHTS
Goals flowed for both sides in the second half, but the Suns never truly threatened the Dockers.
Fremantle's midfielders stood tall in captain Nathan Fyfe's absence, with David Mundy continuing his career-best form, booting two goals and amassing six clearances.
Freo's James Aish also had plenty of the footy, racking up a game-high 31 touches.
Touk Miller (31 disposals, one goal) dug deep for the Suns, while Rankine and Chris Burgess booted two goals apiece.
Suns spearhead Ben King was kept goalless for the first time all season, thanks to the work of returning Freo defender Alex Pearce.
