Fyfe tops Freo Brownlow tally
Get a wrap of how Freo's stars polled
Fyfe polled 13 votes to edge out his skipper and perennial vote-winner Matthew Pavlich (9) and star ruckman Aaron Sandilands (5).
The 20-year-old only polled in five games, but four of them were adjudged best on ground efforts.
He gained maximum votes in round 3 (vs Adelaide), round 9 (vs Port), round 12 (vs Essendon) and round 17 (vs Sydney).
The Lake Grace youngster will be looking forward to playing games at AAMI Stadium in Adelaide next year - he gained the three votes in both of his games there in 2011.
Fyfe also seems to have developed a liking for the tight confines of the SCG, where he polled three votes this year and two in round 9 2010.
His single vote game came in round 18 against West Coast. Fyfe also polled one vote against the Eagles in round 18 last year.
Pavlich's consistency in 2011 was reflected by the umpires' votes. He only polled three votes in one game (round 1 v Brisbane), but was given one or two votes on four occasions.
Meanwhile, Tendai Mzungu and Nick Lower polled their first ever Brownlow Medal votes.
Fremantle's club champion will be decided on Saturday 8 October at Burswood's Grand Ballroom.
The Doig Medal looks like being closely contested between Fyfe and Pavlich, along with defender Luke McPharlin.
McPharlin, who only received one Charlie vote in the midfielder-centric award last night, will poll far better in the Doig thanks to the criteria used in selecting the winner, which marks players based upon their role in the team.
