The 25-year-old inside midfielder had 30 disposals against Essendon last Saturday night in a promising return to the senior side.
“It’s been a frustrating start to the year with suspension and a couple of injuries,” he said.
“But that’s the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. You’ve got to deal with things like that.”
Lower, who admitted to being nervous before his comeback game, credited the club for supporting him while he has been working his way back through the WAFL.
“It’s been a testing time but the coaches have been great and the boys have been fantastic,” he said.
“It was just great to get out there get and amongst it.”
Lower said adapting to the pace of AFL was difficult after being out for such a long period of time.
“I said it early in the game to someone, I think it was Mick Barlow, that it was a little bit faster in the AFL than I remembered,” he said.
“I got caught a couple of times early and stuffed up a few kicks, which wasn’t a great way to start.
“It’s definitely a big step up, but you’ve got to adapt pretty quickly or you’ll get caught out.”
Despite his solid statistical game, the former Port Adelaide player said he wouldn’t be sitting on his laurels off the back of one performance.
“There are a lot of areas to work on,” he said.
“That was my first game under Ross Lyon. I didn’t play any pre-season games under him.
“I’ll sit down with the coaches and go through it during the week.”
