Nat Fyfe has been handed a one-week suspension for striking following Fremantle’s clash with Collingwood at the MCG on Sunday.
The Fremantle captain made contact with Collingwood’s Levi Greenwood during the third quarter.
Based on the available video evidence and a medical report from the Collingwood Football Club, the incident was assessed as intentional conduct with low impact to the head.
In summary, Fyfe can accept a one-match sanction with an early plea.
Fremantle has until 10am WST on Tuesday to advise the AFL as to wether they will appeal the sanction.
In other incidents, Darcy Tucker was charged with a second offence for making careless contact with an umpire during the second quarter.
A second offence for careless contact with an umpire is a $2500 fixed financial sanction. An early plea enables Tucker to accept a $1500 sanction.
