Fremantle have made two changes for the team that will take on Gold Coast on Saturday at Fremantle Oval.

Defender Evie Gooch and Phil Seth are both in for the clash, replacing midfielder Bianca Webb and forward Mikayla Hyde.

Gooch returns after sitting out Fremantle’s away trip to Adelaide due to her commitments as a fire fighter for DFES.

The speedy Seth returns from a hamstring strain to play her first game of 2021 after playing every possible game of the 2019 and 2020 seasons.

While pleased to see the two important defenders return, senior coach Trent Cooper said it was difficult to have to squeeze two players out of the in-form team that defeated Adelaide by 30 points in round three.

"It's a really good position to be in with so many players putting their hand up for selection," Cooper said.

"Evie Gooch obviously had a week off where she couldn’t travel with us...and Phil Seth was out with a hamstring strain.

"Phil was very close to playing last week, and as usual the coaching staff wanted her in but the medicos made the right decision to hold her out for one more week.

"Unfortunately, that means two have to make their way - both Bianca Webb and Mikayla Hyde have both had some really good moments for us and shown that they are going to be good players.

"I'm sure those two will be back soon and will be an important part of our season."

The clash will be the second meeting of the two teams in the AFLW and the first during the regular season.

Their last meeting was at Fremantle Oval in the 2020 finals series, where Fremantle ran out comfortable 70-point winners.

Six Fremantle players will also feature this weekend as the WAFLW competition returns on Saturday, highlighted by the returns of Ann McMahon and Alex Williams following long-term injuries.

The pair will pull on the blue and white for East Fremantle, while Maggie MacLachlan (Subiaco) and Katie-Jayne Grieve (Peel) will also feature this weekend.

Fremantle's emergencies this weekend in Mikayla Hyde and Bianca Webb will also play for Swan Districts on Sunday against Claremont (denoting their emergency).

Tickets are still available for the Gold Coast clash, with AFLW members and the general public all requiring a ticket to gain access to Fremantle Oval.
