Fremantle players will stick together over the off-season and harness a burning desire to amend for this year's Preliminary Final loss, says Lee Spurr.

Spurr had a strong season and grew as a member of his second season in the club’s leadership group.

“We’ll come again next year,” Spurr said.

“That’s the way I look at it and deal with it, let’s get back next year.

Sour end to season hurts: Mundy

“We’re obviously disappointed, everyone is hurting together.

“We are all in in it together.”

Spurr said the side was already looking ahead to next season.

“We’ll come again, there’s no doubt about that,” he said.

“Every year we are building and improving our footy.

The year in numbers

“Every year we are getting better and building towards what we want, which is a premiership.”

Spurr said the 22 players that took to Domain Stadium against Hawthorn left all they could on the field.

“You can’t blame one certain thing, there was a combination of little things,” he said.

“Free kicks, missed shots, skill errors and fumbles.

“That’s the difference in winning and losing in the finals.”
