2020 in a nutshell: The Dockers became the first team to go through an AFLW season undefeated and they thumped Gold Coast in their semi-final before the season was called off, robbing them of a chance to win the club's first premiership. Skilful with the ball and ruthless in their attack without it, they set a new standard for the AFLW and exposed more young talent in the process.

Circle it: The Dockers take on their main challengers from 2020, North Melbourne, in round three. The two conference leaders from last season would have been worthy grand finalists if the season had continued and will be after bragging rights.
Player to watch: Tiah Haynes gets a second chance at Fremantle after fighting her way back from serious knee and shoulder injuries. Shapes as an outstanding midfield recruit after a determined effort to build her game outside the AFLW system and get back on the Dockers' list.
Best Rising Star chance: Mim Strom
2021 prediction: The Dockers will be hungry after the way 2020 ended and have every right to feel a sense of unfinished business. Deserve to enter the season as premiership favourites after producing the best football across the competition and should get even better with the development of young guns Roxanne Roux and Mim Strom and the addition of Haynes.
