Adelaide captain Nathan van Berlo believes his team can take confidence into Friday night's match against Fremantle at AAMI Stadium knowing they hadn't lost consecutive games all season.

Despite admitting the Crows had been soundly beaten by Sydney last weekend, van Berlo said the club had displayed a good ability to learn quickly from their mistakes in 2012.

"I think that provides confidence to the group, having been able to respond from any form of adversity this year," he said.

"From our results this year we've proved that we're able to respond from a loss … in the losses that we have had haven't been huge downfalls in our game plan, it's been some little changes we've had to make here and there.

"We're confident, obviously from the weekend as well, that we can make that in a short turnaround."

The two skippers on Friday night will lead teams from their adopted states against sides from their states of origin, with van Berlo originally a West Australian and Freo's Matthew Pavlich a South Australian.
