Fremantle’s 37-point win over Essendon at Domain Stadium on Sunday came from their improved ball use in the second half, according to midfielder Bradley Hill.
Freo put together a 64-point turnaround after trailing by 27 early in the second term and was their fourth come from behind victory this season.
“(The comeback wins) show we’ve got a lot of run in our legs as we can run out games right to the end,” Hill said.
“I thought we did that today. Our second half was a lot better and we played some better footy.
After seeing a 27 uncontested possession differential in the opening term, Fremantle won the count 166-80 in the second half.
Hill contributed 37 to Fremantle’s possession total – beating the former Hawks' previous career best of 33 from round nine of the 2015 season.

The 23-year-old also took 16 marks, all uncontested, bettering his previous best by of 9, which came against Fremantle in round 3, 2014.
Hill also credited the work of Fremantle’s inside midfielders for winning the contested ball, with Lachie Neale picking up 16 contested possessions and Nat Fyfe 15 chipping in with 15.
“We were able to change the angles and get a bit of uncontested ball,” Hill said.
“Our inside mids were able to get it out to the runners and I thought that worked really well today.”
"I felt I was able to run pretty hard today, but the blokes inside like (Nat) Fyfey and (Lachie) Neale were able win the ball inside and feed it out to me on the outside so I’ll have to say thanks to them."
The mercury ticked just over 30C at bounce down and Hill credited a tough pre-season on Fremantle’s ability to run out the game.
“Obviously it was hot today,” Hill said.
“We were training in the heat all pre-season, so we were flying with this sort of weather.
“Like I said before we run out games pretty well but, hopefully, we can get off to a better start than what we have been so we don’t have to play catch-up footy.”
