“He said to us mid-week, he’s going to be the same person game day, he expects the same effort from all of us.”

“Even though there are three debutants it’s going to be important to play our role.”

Grey said the trio was informed earlier on Thursday they were going to don the purple for the first time.

“Chris Bond (general manager of football) came down before training today and let us all know that we’d be on the plane and playing Port Adelaide,” he said.

Grey was taken at pick 58 in the 2013 National Draft, and is one of three Tasmanian players to debut for Fremantle this season, following Alex Pearce and Lachie Weller.
