Ross Lyon says, despite a 29-point loss to Sydney last weekend, Adelaide are in good form heading into Friday night’s Semi Final against Freo at AAMI Stadium.

The Crows went inside 50 on 22 more occasions than the Swans in the Qualifying Final but failed to convert numerous opportunities.

Lyon said Brenton Sanderson’s side, which has not lost two games in a row all season, would improve come Friday.

“They’ll practice their goal kicking and look off the line a little bit more,” he said on 6PR’s Sports Today.

“I think they’ll go in with full confidence.”

Lyon said Adelaide, under former Geelong assistant Sanderson, played a similar brand to Geelong this season.

“They’re a high-contested, skilful kicking team that moves the defences around,” he said.

“A lot of the system that was at Geelong has appeared at Adelaide this year. That’s a real feather in their cap.”

The Freo coach added that the Crows deserved to go in favourites in Friday’s do-or-die final.

“They’ve beaten us twice, so clearly we’ll go in the underdog,” he said.

“But we understand that our best footy is pretty good and it’s going to challenge most teams.

“We’re confident in what we do and they’ll be confident in what they do. That’s what will make it a very special night.”
