As expected, Alex Silvagni was also added to the 22, with All Australian defenders Luke McPharlin and Michael Johnson out with knee injuries.
The emergencies for the match are Clancee Pearce, Anthony Morabito and Matt Taberner.
General manager of football operations Chris Bond said the club was pleased to see Sylvia earn a senior game after consistent form at Peel Thunder.
“We just expect Colin to continue to do what he’s been doing, which is doing the work he’s done on the track,” he said.
“He’s trained really well over the past five or six weeks, and his work rate in games has been really solid as well.
“That’s all he needs to do - continue to do that and help contribute to the team.”
Bond said the club had full confidence in Silvagni and the entire backline to cover for the absence of its champion defenders.
“Certainly Alex comes in to fill a hole for us, but he’s been able to play well when he’s come in previously,” he said.
“The backline as a whole will really have to get to work, but as we know, it’s not just the back six, it’s everyone involved on the team.”
