WITH captain Matthew Pavlich fit to play, coach Mark Harvey is hoping Fremantle supporters get right behind the side in Sunday's much-anticipated derby against West Coast.
The clash will be Fremantle's home game and Harvey hopes a strong purple presence in the stands will provide an important edge over the Eagles.
A Fremantle win will also keep the club clear of the cross-town rival on the ladder.
"It really hit home when I came and watched rugby union two weeks ago and there was a sea of yellow here barracking for Australia," Harvey said on Friday.
"I just want our supporters who are strong in numbers to be fanatical, patriotic and to get right behind the team, which they usually do.
"But I'm trying to get them to go over and beyond. It can certainly be intimidating."
After missing the win over Port Adelaide with a jarred knee, Pavlich has overcome the injury and is likely to spend time forward and in the middle.
His counterpart, West Coast full-back Darren Glass, has also overcome a thigh strain.
"He (Pavlich) will play and is fine," Harvey confirmed. "He will train today and I'm more than confident that he's right. Matthew's one of those guys that plays in many positions.
"He has played on Glass a lot over the last couple of years and that may happen again, but West Coast's midfield has changed significantly in the last couple of weeks so he could run through there as well.
"Both teams are coming off a pretty good win so are in form at the moment."
Defender Roger Hayden is also a chance to play if he gets through Friday afternoon's final training run, while injured ruckman Robert Warnock will miss veteran Shaun McManus' farewell appearance.
However, McManus' retirement hasn't encouraged Harvey to go overboard and he is confident the players will get a third straight win on the board.
"Shaun is fairly uncontrollable before a game, will have his family in there and will be emotional, but hopefully the team can hold him in good stead," he said.
"It has been low key in terms of my meetings with the players on the back of everything that's happened.
"We've only trained once this week, will train again this afternoon and it hasn’t been full-on talking about the derby and West Coast.
"We've built some momentum the last couple of weeks and with Shaun announcing his retirement there's a lot of excitement, but we have to be careful not to go over the top."
