Kepler Bradley believes that Fremantle's pre-season three-pronged tall forward set-up that includes himself, Matthew Pavlich and Jack Anthony is beginning to gel more with every match.
The trio kicked five goals between them against a near- full strength Hawthorn outfit at Patersons Stadium last Friday night, which Bradley, who booted two, said was an important confidence booster before the season begins on 31 March.
""I thought the whole forward line worked really well. We really got a bit of chemistry there," he said.
"Jackwas taking a few marks and Pav was leading really well.
"We managed to kick five goals between us and if your forward structure is able to do that most weeks you're going to come away with a pretty good result."
Anthony played perhaps his best game for Fremantle as a forward, finishing with two goals, three contested marks and five tackles.
"Jack hasn't put a foot wrong," Bradley said.
"He's done all the pre-season, played all the practice games and he's been pretty good in all the practice games.
"He's given himself the best chance for round 1. He showed he can take a contested mark and his kicking is pretty accurate."
A statistic of note from Friday night's game was the eight inside 50s that Stephen Hill had.
Bradley said it was a team focus to get the ball into the silky-skilled 21-year-old's hands.
"He's a quality player and he breaks the lines," Bradley said.
"His kicking is spot on. He's one of the best kicks in our team.
"The more times we get it in his hands, the more times he can kick it inside 50 and we're going to get a good result."
Bradley said the absence of Aaron Sandilands and Jon Griffin meant he had to spend a bit of time in the ruck on Friday night, but he hoped to play forward when those players were available.
He said the focus now shifted to round 1 and a date with the defending AFL Premiers Geelong in the Starlight Purple Haze Game on Saturday 31 March.
"We get two weeks to freshen up now," he said.
"We're going to come out all guns blazing on our home deck and look for a good result."
