Jack Anthony (S) - 17 disposals (11 kicks, 6 handballs), 3 marks, 6 tackles
Jack played in defence for Subiaco, both deep and across the arc. He was one of the better defenders on the ground and showed great effort in the physical contests, both at ground level and in the air. He worked off his opponents to spoil in marking contests several times and had a real impact. His tackling was good and he showed real energy and aggression playing in defence. It was a really positive step for Jack.
Alex Silvagni (C) - 18 disposals (15 kicks, 3 handballs), 7 marks
Alex played key back in the Foxtel Cup against Mount Gravette. Claremont dominated the game winning by 14 goals. Alex’s ball use was good and he was very decisive with his kicking. He found himself on different type of opponents and positioned very well behind the ball. He was in the two or three best players on the ground, which was pleasing.
Antoni Grover (S) - 13 disposals (7 kicks, 6 handballs), 6 marks
Antoni played as a key back, deep and across the arc. He controlled each of his opponents with good physical pressure, and had no problems handling both talls and mediums. A feature of his game was his ground ball efforts - there were at least six to eight instances where he drove hard with one touch, clean ball handling to gather the football and feed it off on the counter attack. A couple of long off-ball runs to cover defensively were also evident. Antoni is playing some good football after coming back from injury.
Lee Spurr (PT) - 13 disposals (8 kicks, 5 handballs)
Lee played every position on the ground, lining up in the midfield, half-back, wing and half-forward. The good thing about Lee is that he stuck to the tasks that were given to him in a team that was comprehensively beaten by Swan Districts. He took a really strong courageous mark in the third quarter helping out in defence. Lee has played consistent football for a period of time now, which is a real positive.
Peter Faulks (PT) - 11 disposals (4 kicks, 7 handballs)
Peter played back on Tim Geapen, whom he has done well against in the past. On this day he found this challenging in a team that was under siege. He did put his head over some ground balls. Peter played one of his better games a couple of weeks ago, so he just needs to get back to that form this coming week against South Fremantle.
