David Mundy says Fremantle is refocusing on the beginning of a new season - the AFL Finals Series.

Fremantle will play Geelong this Saturday night in an Elimination Final at the MCG.

“Playing finals is a massive goal of ours and we’ve been able to achieve that this year, so that’s great.” Mundy said.

“The season starts again.”

Mundy said Freo were confident the team’s game plan would stand up in finals footy.

“We’ve been applying ourselves really well, sticking to our game plan and hitting our KPIs,” he said.

“We’re not afraid to go anywhere or play anyone.

“We’re fully confident with what we are doing at the moment, and we just need to replicate that over in Melbourne.”

Despite the loss of experienced defender Luke McPharlin, Mundy said whoever came in would fill the gap in Fremantle’s solid defensive structure.

“Antoni Grover is obviously a proven player and it would almost be a bit of a fairytale if he came in,” Mundy said.

"Alex Silvagni is a very accomplished player and has done a lot of jobs for us in the past.

“Regardless of who comes in or who plays, or where they play, we are pretty confident guys will step in and play their role.”

Mundy said that throughout the season there had been good examples of players stepping in and doing a job.

“They really stand up for the team and that’s what we are about,” he said.

“We are a 22-man team on the weekend, not just about any one individual.”

Mundy said he hoped Freo could do some damage during the finals campaign, but it was still one week at a time.

“We are just focusing on Geelong at this stage, but obviously we are all keen to extend our footy season for as long as we can.”
