When the family of Fremantle young gun Bailey Banfield donated a breathtaking Willie Creek Pearl necklace to the football club, it didn’t take long for it to become one of the more coveted prizes in Freo’s FOREVER Mega Draw.
Valued at $15,950, the collection piece necklace is made up of white Australian South Sea Cultured Pearls, and measures at 47 centimetres in length.
Willie Creek Pearls is owned and operated by the Banfield family, and after its humble beginnings in Broome over 30 years ago, it has remained a family business ever since.

A proud supporter of the Fremantle Football Club, the business was hit hard, like many others, during the height of the recent COVID-19 pandemic.
For the first time in Willie Creek Pearls’ history, all seven of their showrooms had to be temporarily closed.
It’s what makes the generous donation to help incentivise Fremantle members and supporters to keep the club strong, even greater.
Bailey penned a piece earlier this year about the importance of maintaining the company’s family roots, which you can read in full on the Willie Creek Pearls website here.
“The theme of family is evident throughout the business and one of its great strengths, as Mimi (Bailey’s grandma) likes to say: “no one tells the truth like family,” Banfield wrote.
“The day-to-day operations are run by Dad, Uncle Darren, and Aunty Melissa, while Mimi has taken more of a matriarchal role in recent years.
“The skills of other family members are constantly utilised, ensuring Banfield involvement at all levels, from bookkeeping to filming advertisements to day-to-day staffing of the showrooms.”
Willie Creek’s Showrooms operate in seven locations across Broome and Perth, or you can visit their online shop to view their range of pearls here.
The Banfield family also invite people to join them for various unique pearl experiences, such as their famous Willie Creek Pearl Farm Tour, a journey back in time at Pearl Luggers or even to harvest your own pearl in Perth at Elizabeth Quay.
