Champion Hawthorn midfielder Luke Hodge says his side’s tough start to the 2013 home and away season doesn’t get any easier, with Fremantle up next at Launceston’s Aurora Stadium on Saturday.

The Hawks lost a round 1 thriller to bogey side Geelong, before backing up off a six-day break to travel to Perth and thump West Coast.

Hodge was best-on-ground on Sunday as the 2012 runners-ups dismantled Collingwood by 55-points in wet conditions.

"Now we've got a six-day break before we head down to Tassie to play Freo,” the Hawthorn captain said.

“Freo are an impressive side, their second half of last year was outstanding.”

Hodge predicted Fremantle would be smarting from its thrilling four-point loss to Essendon at Patersons Stadium last Friday night, a game Ross Lyon’s side had led by 37 points in the second quarter.

"Obviously it was a disappointing finish for them on Friday, but you know what you're going to get from them defensively,” Hodge said.

“They're right on you and it's going to be a tough game I think."

The Hawks handed Freo its biggest loss under Ross Lyon with a 56-point win at Aurora Stadium in round 8 last year.
