Cottesloe Primary kick starts Purple Haze
There was no wasting time getting the Purple Haze festivities under way for Cottesloe Primary
The school held their Purple Haze party on Friday 22 March, leading into the Carlton Mid Derby, and the competition between the supporters at Cottesloe was apparent.
Deputy Principal Lorraine Feddema said the students got into the spirit of the day.
“We had a set of the purple Starlight Foundation balloons in each of the classrooms,” she said.
“There was a great turnout of children to support their favourite footy team.
“We have a lot of Docker supporters here at the school, including most of the teaching staff.”
Lorraine said as well as getting into the footy side of things, the students still understood the meaning behind the day.
“Nearly all the children in the school support this day and the charity is very close to home for some of them.” she said.
Several schools throughout Perth are supporting Starlight Purple Haze in 2013.
