Brodie Holland will be one of seven past Fremantle players to take part in the annual  EJ Whitten Legends Game at Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night.

The game, which is held in memory of Football legend Ted Whitten, aims to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer research.

Holland played 36 games for Fremantle between 1998 and 2000 before joining Collingwood in 2001. He said he was looking forward to being involved in the charity match.

“Obviously it’s a great cause, we’ll be raising awareness for prostate cancer, and in this day and age it’s such an important issue,” he said.

“I’ll be out representing the All Stars team and I’m looking forward to seeing some of the guys I used to play with.”

Troy Cook, Heath Black, Jess Sinclair, Adam McPhee, Paul Hasleby and Shaun McManus will line up with Holland for the game and Holland said it would be a good opportunity to catch up with his old teammates.

“I had a fair bit to do with Shaun in the three years that I was at Freo, even more so Heath, we were good friends back in those days so it will be good to catch up with them,” he said.

“We're all living different lifestyles now, we all have families and work and it’s extremely hard to catch up with guys who you once were really close friends with.

“It’s the one time of the year that you can actually do that.”

Holland said he hadn’t really thought about who he was going to line-up on but was looking forward to having a laugh.

“No one really lines up on anyone in these games, everyone just runs around and has a laugh and gets a kick here and there,” he said.

“I don't think I'll be going too close to any opponents in this type of match, it will just be a bit of fun.”

The EJ Whitten Legends Game will be broadcast on Channel 9 at the following local times:
Perth & Adelaide - 9.30pm
Melbourne - 8.00pm
